PARKES PUBLIC SCHOOL’S STUDENT WELFARE POLICY

These 10, principles underpin all that occurs in this school.
THE TEN MAIN PRINCIPLES THAT DRIVE ALL THAT HAPPENS AT PARKES PUBLIC:-
- As much as possible all decisions should be made based on the consideration of what is best for the students.
- Staff welfare is important. Staff welfare impacts upon student welfare.
- Early intervention is better than remediation.
- Being able to read is the single-most contribution to nurturing self esteem and positive behaviour.
- The relationship between student and teacher is a vital factor in the learning process.
- Success leads to success.
- High expectations are essential and must be communicated, positively.
- All children can learn.
- Each teacher, parent, student is accountable for his/her own choices, and with every choice there is a consequence.
- Individual needs and talents must be catered for, and many confidence-building and enriching experiences should be provided.
