Strive for Success

Welcome to

Parkes Public School's website.

Welcome to Parkes Public School – a Centre of Excellence in the middle of NSW. We are the oldest and largest primary school in the growing township of Parkes with a current enrolment of 530 students. We have 23 classes across our school, which includes three classes for students with special needs.

Our school motto, “Strive for Success”, reflects the attitude of our students and staff towards all aspects of our school including academic growth, sporting efforts, and personal goals. We are a school that has a very strong Values Education Program that is reflected in the positive behaviour of all of our students.

Our school enjoys a very positive reputation in our community. We are well known for our attention to the specific needs of each individual student; our strong focus upon the core subjects of literacy and numeracy; and our caring and supportive relationship between the school and the wider community.

Parkes Public School provides children with a wide variety of opportunities in many curriculum and special interest areas including:
* Wiradjuri language and cultural studies
* High levels of technology applications across the school with computers and  interactive whiteboard resources in all rooms
* Specialist Band and Choir programs
* Intensive literacy and numeracy classes
* Programs for Gifted and Talented students
* Parent workshops to assist in the development of skills in core subjects
* After hours home-work centre, and much more.

Please take the time to thoroughly investigate our website and return on a regular basis to review our regular up-dates.
